I bought it for a bit less than "the price" on sale so I feel even better.) The unit is small, about the size of a paperback book. I liked that it came with both a component cable (necessary because the player-side connection is non-standard) and an HDMI connector. The player display and menus have a polished look, unlike some low cost media players still available. Image display is nice. There are a number of built in, nicely done, transitions, and you can configure it to use one all the time or select randomly. Video display is where this thing falls apart. To test it I rendered the same short movie clip at three different MPEG-2 resolutions. VCD - 480x480, PC - 640x480, and HD - 1920x1080. The VCD played fine but was fuzzy on my large screen. The PC version was sharper but noticeable slower. (The accompanying audio changed key... actually, several keys.) The HD version wouldn't play at all. (There was a pop-up message saying it was an unrecognized format.)...

The plastic bags they used were very thin and cheap. Other than that, it was very easy to assemble. Having read the previous post I was very careful in bringing the screen to tension and did not run into problems with the frame bending. They could have very easily added a steel plate to join the 2 pieces. Nice picture and the frame is a nice width. Looks great on the wall....

However, when shipped, a bag of parts was opened inside instantly worrying me that parts were missing (fortunately, they weren't). Next, the one page of instructions made putting it together most difficult. We had to take it apart three or four times due to missed instructions (the pictures do little to help). The worst part, however, is that as we tightened screen to full tension, the frame was not strong enough and buckled in the middle. After many trips to the hardware store we found items to support the frame to get it close to straight, but not perfect. If you buy this screen I would recommend reinforcing the frame before tightening the screen to save you a lot of trouble. The product meets my needs, yet was a pain to set up....

I looked forward to this great 110" screen and when I opened the box the day I had installers coming to hook it up it was a 93" manual pulldown screen, about half the value of what I ordered. I called Amazon immediately and they told me I had to pay to ship it back but if it was their fault they will cover my shipping. I hope so, it was $23 to ship back to them. There were several stickers on the outside of the box, one was a little loose than the others, and this was the one that said 110" screen. The stickers on the side of the box told the truth. So, I guess I really never actually rated the product because Amazon prime sent me the wrong one....

I have it hooked up to a dvd player via the S-Video cable, and the picture is sharp. If you plan to watch videos with this projector, it will work nicely. It has 800x600 resolution, and as of right now, DVDs and standard TV are only 720x480 (so the resolution is more than enough). If you want to display HDTV, this projector can process a 720p signal, but it will downconvert it to fit its 800x600 native resolution.It is not the brightest projector (the 1800 lumens is more like 1600), but it is more than adequate in a partially-lit room, even when on "economy mode." In addition, when in economy mode, it is nearly silent. Because it is a DLP projector, you do see the occasional "rainbow effect" (basically brief flashes of rainbow colors when darting your eyes back and forth across the screen).Previous to this purchase, I used a much more expensive projector, but because I use it for showing standard-resoltion DVD videos (i.e., not HDTV), this one works just as well. The bulb is between 250-300 depending on where you find it....

The box arrived quickly and undamaged. The frame construction is solid (one piece for each side with good connectors) with a thick velvet border of about 3". There are quite a few connection points for the screen itself around the frame and you stretch the screen to make it tight. The screen quality is very good and produces accurate colors. The screen hangs from either 2 (stud mounted) or 4 (drywall) screws.My only complaint about the screen is that the roll that the screen material came on was slightly too small and one of the corners is wrinkled a bit. It is not noticeable while watching movies in a dark room, but is visible while no image is present.This is probably not the same quality as a Stewart screen (I haven't seen one in person) but if you need a big screen for a cheap price this is the way to go....

I attached my iPhone and watched videos through iTunes and YouTube quite easily. On a wall, on a ceiling. There really needs to be very little ambient lighting though. But when it's dark, really a pretty sharp picture for the size of the thing and its resolution. And I was especially impressed by the sound given the tiny size of the speaker.My only complaint is a lack of documentation. The box came with a "quick start guide" which told you very little beyond how to charge it and a couple of other notes and one "sample" configuration. That's it, and there doesn't seem to be any more documentation online. But given how relatively easy to use it is, this is a minor quibble....

I bought it specifically for my iphone, but was very gutted to hear that it only supports video and photo slideshow on the phone. I was hoping to show of some of the amazing apps I bought and am developing myself. The resolution is not great and it needs to be very dark for you to achieve a good enough image. They advertise it by showing that you can shine it on the side of a tent - I am not so sure what that would accomplish. If you are in a dark room and you have got a smooth white surface to project against, it is all right. If you were thinking of using headphones while watching the movie, you can't change the volume. So all and all, I would give it a 3 out of 5 and probably would not have bought it had I the chance to do it again.. Sorry....

Priced right for a new gadget (thought I could see it going lower in time--under $200 would be nice). We had been looking at buying a used LCD/DLP projector but with this, we got what we needed and more. We just got it yesterday and found it easy to use, reasonably easy to set up with the exception of hooking it up to our portable dvd player. We needed to jerry rig it into a M2M AV connection--the quick start guide doesn't cover this at all and we stole the cable from our tv to make it work. Haven't checked battery life but it's easily run off the ac adapterThat said, my 6 year old LOVED hanging out in our living room watching a movie both off my iphone and the portable dvd. She's already plotting her next sleep over. The picture quality is amazing--our display on the living room wall was probably about 4' x 7-8 feet and very clear given that the room was not completely dark. For a group, you might want to hook it up to external speakers (we hooked it up to our Bose SoundDock and it worked great) but when traveling or for a small group, the sound on the little device is fine. Great when you don't have to force 4 kids to crowd around a little dvd player.For work, I can definitely see taking this to client sites when I need to do presentations. It's about the size of a digital camera even with the case and cables. Very light, compact. Comes with all the connectors you need for the most part including power adapters for int'l travel.A clever gadget, especially for the $$. Would be fun if they produce them in different colors like the apple products....
