The ceiling display can be rotated from 0-90 degrees, or there it a button to rotate 180degrees -- giving you 360 degrees. Its sittin on my nightstand, approx. 12 feet from me, right now, and I can read the LCD display from here. It's designed to not be a bright light when you're sleeping, and when the alarm goes off it auto-lights the LED and the LCD displays, so you can see it. :)...

I don't think it is meant to be. It's for night time purposes and works really well at night. The volume of the alarm function is loud enough to wake me but not so loud that it wakes my wife. Great product....

Only about 50% brightness than other OS's popular models; the size of the digits are also smaller. Unless your ceiling is less than 10 feel tall and the room is very drak, otherwise please do consider other models....
