This review is from: Sanyo PLCXD2200 300-Inch 1080p Front Projector - White/BlackThe Sanyo PLC XD 2200 is an excellent projector for home and (probably) office use. I bought it in Russia from hdtime.ru and have used it for about three weeks. We mainly use it for watching DVDs in a slightly darkened room and I must say the picture quality, brightness and contrast are absolutely amazing. As this is my first projector I cannot really compare it with other models, but in the shop I was shown BenQ 525 and Epson EB92. Besides, I have read all sorts of reviews both on Amazon and on other sites. The BenQ, unfortunately, displayed the much discussed rainbow effect, to which I turned out to be sensitive. Though the picture is arguably more crisp in a DLP model and the blacks are deeper rather than dark gray, I strongly recommend any potential buyer to have a projector demonstrated to them before he sets his heart on a certain model. In my case, the picture turned for a few milliseconds all a perplexing multitude of bright blotches, and before you can discern them, returned to normal. The Epson model, though more expensive, had the same picture quality as Sanyo, so I figured out I could save about $100. In our living room the projector stands about 3 m far from the wall, casting a picture of some 1.5 meters broad and 1 m high on four glued-together A1 sheets of paper used as a screen. This is just right for sitting just below the projector and yet not really seeing any individual pixels, being the size of 2 mm. As for the fan noise, it is audible in a quiet room and even uncomfortable in total silence (which makes me even switch it off by unplugging the projector immediately after watching). Yet I must say that while watching the movie it is completely drowned by the music and speech and we completely forget about it. This is applicable for the standard (not eco) mode.I haven't tried out the internal speaker, as we're using the 5.1 speaker system, with which, I repeat, the fan sound is of no consequence. The projector has very easy to use keystone correction (both manual and automatic), but must be placed exactly perpendicular to the screen as all models without vertical keystone correction. All in all, I'm perfectly satisfied with the product and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good viewing experience without spending a fortune on more expensive models....
