The weight is substanial allowing it to support heavier projectors. It was packed very well with each piece being seperately blister packed. So why didn't I rate it 5 stars? For my installation, I would have preferred that the shaft had been longer causing me to have to make some alterations. I have a dedicated home theater which is has dark walls and ceiling so would have preferred a dark mount but it is mostly hidden so is not big deal.Considering the cost of some ceiling mounts this mount would be an excellent choice. From a construction standpoint, I wouldn't change a thing....
This review is from: Projector Ceiling/wall Mount 12.8IN-17.3IN Adjustable Extension (White)My first time using a ceiling mount, so I have nothing to compare it to.I used this mount for an Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350, and found it to be a very high quality product. The instructions were clear. The projector adapter mount came with many screw types for different projectors and I had no problem fitting it to the Epson. The mounting brackets seem very sturdy and are easily assembled with machine screws that screw into threaded holes in the brackets. (I did have to remove a burr from one hole to get the screw to go all the way through.) I especially liked the way they designed the attachment of the projector adapter mount to the ceiling mount, so you could securely hook it on, let go of the projector, and then tighten screws to level the projector.I had no problem leveling the projector as it is easy to adjust the projector in all directions.One minor quibble I have with the instructions is that they suggest predrilling the holes in a joist or stud with a bit that is way too small for the size of the screw they provide....

It also came in white to match the wall that I mounted it on. After installing it to the wall and the mitsubishi 4000 projector, I had a vibration issue. The projector was vibrating and causing the image on the screen to become shaky especially with any text on the screen. After making quite a few modifications to the mount and adding shelf brackets underneath the projector with rubber, I finally got the vibration and shaky image corrected. The fan for the bulb on the projector was causing the image to shake with the wall mount. Peerless and Mitsubishi could not help me resolve this issue, had to resolve it on my own....
