In some ways it is but in other ways it's far too compromised:* The RS50 puts out noticeably less light (lumens) than the RS40. JVC has not explained this.* The RS50 has a Color Management System (CMS) but it's seriously flawed compared to aftermarket CMS solutions (a Lumagen Mini3D is far superior and runs half the cost difference between the RS40 & RS50). * The RS50 gamma adjustments affect greyscale tracking (not so on the Lumagen Mini3D).My recommendation is to save your money and skip the RS50. Get the RS40 and pair that with a Lumagen Mini3D if you want CMS capability....
