This review is from: Projector Ceiling/wall Mount 17.2IN-25.2IN Adjustable Extension (White)When i got my first cinema projector, i bought a specific mount from Chief. Sturdy, sure, but when that projector died, I had an expensive lump of metal that nobody wanted. When that old 800x600 projector died, I bought this mount, with the idea that once i upgraded my projector, i can reuse it. It worked fine for that old HP projector for 2 years. Finally, I've gone high-def, and I bought an Epson Powerlite 8350 projector. It is fully 4x as big as the old HP projector. This mount handled it easily. It comes with 3 types of screws, and i used two of them for the two projectors I've used on it. This mount has a very flexible mounting system. With a heavy projector, I can easily position the mounting point above the "centre of mass" of the projector, so that it is not dragging the mount to move in any direction. It sits properly balanced, but can easily be fine-tuned on 3 axes. The mount is sturdy, although it will wobble if you touch it, but once it settles, it won't move, and stays put. This is an inexpensive mount, and although it's not super-sturdy, but it's sturdy *enough* to hold your projector in a permanent installation. Cosmetically, it's fine, but not super-nice. It's white, which blends in much better than a black one, and my old and new projectors were white or beige. You can see a few silver colored screws. white screw heads would have been better. You can thread your cables inside it to hide them. Overall it's a solid product and good value for your hard earned dollar....
This review is from: Projector Ceiling/wall Mount 17.2IN-25.2IN Adjustable Extension (White)This mount is good quality, and is very sturdy. The universal adapter is very flexible and easy to adjust. However, the overall setup of this is rather difficult. There are over 10 different types of screws in the package (some which go unused because they are for attaching to the projector) and they all come in a bag which is unlabeled. You have to guess which screw is correct based on the picture and how well it fits. This is compounded by the fact that many of the screws are very similar. Furthermore, they don't use a regular hex screw which you can apply an allen wrench to. They use a hex head with a stub in the middle so you have to use the special (hollow tipped) allen wrench which is included. Overall I would buy this again, but if you aren't handy, you might need to find someone to help you set this up....
