This review is from: Elite Screens ER120WH1 Sable Frame Series ScreenI had the Elite ezFrame 100" CineGrey together with an Epson 8500UB projector. The grey material made the picture to dark for my liking. Had I gotten a CineGrey 120" it would really have been dark. Enter the CineWhite Sable series. It's perfect...the blacks are dark, the colors are perfect and it lights up the screen just fine. The difference between the ezFrame and the Sable is the shape of the aluminum. Both screens are assembled the same, use the exact same hardware and the screen material is the same. I can't think of a reason you would buy the ezFrame over the Sable frame. the velvet covering appears just as thick and the border itself is the same thickness. I saved $100 by taking the ezframe 100" and buying the sable 120" screen....I couldn't be more satisfied!...
This review is from: Elite Screens ER120WH1 Sable Frame Series ScreenI hang a lot of screens. I mean, a lot. Typically I've used screens from other highly-regarded manufacturers, but on this job I decided to take a chance with the Elite screen. What a pleasant surprise.First I'll say that it is not quite as easy as assembling screens from other manufacturers, but you can easily get the hang of it. Note: These surfaces have to be tight, so don't be afraid to stretch that fabric. When assembled and hung, both the customer and I were very pleased with the appearance. All-in-all, it appears to be a great screen for the money....
This review is from: Elite Screens ER120WH1 Sable Frame Series ScreenI am very happy with this product. I did a fair amount of research on the Elite Screens sable vs EZ-Frame series. It turned out that the only difference was in the shape of the frame. The sable series cost a full $100 less than the 120" EZ-Frame. The screen material and mounting method was identical. The frame shipped quickly directly from Elite. Assembly took about 2 hours, and the instructions were clear. The velvet edging was sprayed on to the aluminum frame, but it i well done, and doesn't come loose. It seems to do a good job at blocking light overspill.Actually, there are other small differences in the Sable vs the EZ Screen. The EZ-screen is available in white, gray and acoustically transparent perforated fabric. The Sable is only available in white. The manual also indicates that the mounting brackets on the EZ-Frame are somewhat better. The Sable had a pair of metal clips that screwed to the wall, while the EZ-Frame had a total of 4, plus a bottom clip. The Elite material gives a good and bright image with my Epson 8100 projector. It is bright and has god contrast as well as color neutrality. There is no hotspotting and it seems to handle low levels of ambient light well in my basement theater....
