This review is from: PCMD All-Metal Projector Ceiling Mount for Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350With the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 projector weighing over 16 lbs., I wanted to be sure that the mount that I purchased would be adequate for the task. This mount worked absolutely perfect and I was able to mount and position the projector in just a few minutes. Since the rafters in my ceiling run perpendicular to the screen, and given the fact that there was only 1 1/2" of 2x4 to drill into, I mounted the base plate in a diamond orientation so that it would be as strong as possible (this was also suggested in the mounting instructions). I then mounted the larger plate to the projector using the supplied screws and spacers, then connected the two plates together using the supplied screw, washers, and wing nut. It makes for a very quick and sturdy connection, yet is very lightweight since it is made of aluminum, and can be moved in various directions to get the projector lined up perfectly with your screen. In my case, there is zero visible keystoning, and I did not need to take advantage of the lens shift either using this mount. This is the fourth mount that I have purchased to mount a projector, and I would say that this is the best one yet, and very reasonably priced....

This review is from: PCMD All-Metal Projector Ceiling Mount for Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350For the money, this is a great ceiling mount for the Epson 8350. It swivels in 3 axes, allowing you to point the projector where needed. As stated in the instructions for the mount, the nylon spacers are required for bolting the large plate to the projector. We installed this mount on the vaulted ceiling of a church. The ceiling slope is about 7 degrees. Because of the weight of the 8350 (16 lbs.), we used long lag bolts on 2 of the holes in the smaller plate, screwing them into the wooden 2-by beams above the sheetrock. For the other 2 holes, we managed to screw shorter lag bolts into some lathing boards to which the sheetrock is attached. I recommend you install at least 2 bolts into something substantial like a 2-by beam. The holes in the projector plate were slightly oversized to allow for tolerance buildup I suppose. The spacing for the holes in the plate were perfect (300 mm and 160 mm per the Epson user's guide). I added washers (not included) just as a margin of safety for these bolts; they're not really necessary. The bolts were included with the mount, washers weren't. For 8350 hole spacing, see page 17 of the 8350 user's guide, located at: [...]This is a large projector, both in size and weight. After you attach the ceiling plate to your ceiling, have someone help you support the projector from below while you guide it into the mating half of the mount and attach the bolts. The person supporting the projector won't be able to see the attach points for the mount.Overall, this is a simple and inexpensive design for an 8350 ceiling mount. I highly recommend it....

This review is from: PCMD All-Metal Projector Ceiling Mount for Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350I was very happy with this mount. For my needs, I purchased a nice piece of red-maple that was long enough to span the studs in my ceiling so there would be no chance of my > $1k projector smashing on the floor. The mount matched up perfectly to the holes in the projector and i had no problems....
