This review is from: InFocus IN24 DLP ProjectorSo far this has been a good buy. I am Mark Tucker, the assistant pastor at Old Orchard Church in St. Louis, MO. This DP was a great find because it does exactly what we need it too. We don't need the extreme high definition images, but we want something that looks good and enlarges well. It does get a bit hot after 2 hours of straight use, but I am not sure that this is a problem. The price point was excellent for us as a small church, especially since I got it as an Open Box discount. I love the options and the keystone feature....
This review is from: InFocus IN24 DLP ProjectorI've owned an Infocus X1 for 3 or 4 years now. Besides the color wheel noise that happened last year, it was always a great projector. Infocus repaired the unit under warranty and even upgraded my firmware so I had more features. Recently I decided that I'd like to buy something new since the extended warranty period was up on the X1. Let me tell you, this IN24 is mind numbingly better than the X1 and the price is outrageously low for such a unit. The fan is a lot quieter in comparison and the images are a bit brighter. Overall, I'm happy with this unit. I really like the housing on this projector. Although it's still plastic, it seems a lot more sturdy.I just wish they would add horizontal and vertical image editing for the video 1 input....
This review is from: InFocus IN24 DLP ProjectorI purchased this projector to watch movies at home and have not been pleased with its performance. Our DVD inventory includes both 4x3 and 16x9 formats. As this is a dedicated 3x4 projector, DVDs that are 16x9 will have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. If you have a dedicated 16x9 screen, like I have, this will not work if you like a clean image at the edge of the screen. If I mount the projector to fill the screen, then the 4x3 DVD image is projected above and below the screen. Perhaps I don't have it setup correctly, but that was the best I could do. Specs say this projector has component video inputs, which it does. However, they are part of the monitor input jack and you have to spend another $20.00 for an adapter to connect to them. Our family room is 12 X 23 and the fan is too loud when you have the bulb in high setting - you do get a great picture, though. We could barely hear the fan in low setting but the room has to be VERY dark to get a decent picture. Projector comes with a CD that has the manual and a neat screen size calculator that figures the distance from the screen the projector should be located....

The product is great! Very flexible (including the ability to adjust the distance from the mounting wall) and all of the adjustment screws are standarized and therefore use the same allen wrench (which is included!). Adjustments are nearly infinite and flexible. I highly recommend it....
This review is from: Projector Ceiling/wall Mount 17.2IN-25.2IN Adjustable Extension (Black)First the good news: I successfully used this mount to install my 20 lb. projector. That is, along with about $15 of additional parts and hardware and lots of time. My projector is 18 inches long and 14 wide and easily fit, although I did need some longer screws (various short ones are supplied) to attach the mount spider to the bottom of the projector. I do especially like one feature: When mounting the projector/spider assembly, there is an easy-to-use hook to hang that assembly in place on the ceiling strut, so there's no installing screws while holding up something heavy. And it has been up for a week, hasn't fallen down, and does not appear to have shifted.Here's what I didn't like: First, this mount is not really designed for use with a suspended ceiling grid. The installation manual describes only drywall over wood joists, and concrete installations. Same for cantilevered (using an included right-angle piece at the projector) wall mounting. Two #14 wood screws, 2.5 inches long, are included to attach the mount to a ceiling or wall, and are intended to be screwed into the center of the narrow edge of a wooden ceiling joist or wall stud. Also included are concrete expansion anchors. I couldn't use any of this hardware. To install the mount where I had to put it, I rigidly attached a piece of 3/4" plywood across two joists, and through-bolted the mount to the plywood.No ceiling trim plate is included, and I didn't find one on the Peerless web site. I made mine by modifying a lighting fixture ceiling trim (canopy), and it nicely covers the cut edge of my ceiling panel.The mount is assembled and adjusted using tamper-resistant/security metric socket pin screws. Better hang on to that supplied 4 mm tamper-resistant capable Allen wrench, as a standard metric Allen wrench will not work, and a replacement may be difficult to find.My results are adequate, not beautiful. It isn't very rigid, but maybe some of that is from the plywood I used in the mounting. I'm not sending it back, but I think there are better mounts out there....

As a projector it works well, but I wish I had known some things about the item before I purchased it. 1) The projector is not very bright. As a result, the projection is not very sharp. This makes text fuzzy, so that everything has to be huge for my students to see it. 2) The settings on this projector do little to help the image. The manual is poorly translated from Chinese and is quite funny. So it's hard to figure out exactly what to do if you are having problems. 3) I have to start the projector twice before it will stay on. I have no clue why it needs me to do this, but I think it has something to do with the fuse that lights the bulb. I guess it has to warm up.4) There is no zoom and if you can hang this from the ceiling you will be better off. Mine is stacked on 3 books on a cart. The screen is very low and the projector has to be close to project a big picture. I mean within 5 feet close, so if you want to use this with a SmartBoard make sure you have this mounted from the ceiling or be prepared for students to block projection when using the board. On the reverse, for the price this is a good projector for watching movies at home in a VERY dark room. I'm not unsatisfied with my purchase, but if I had it to do again, I'd probably beg for more money and get a better projector just because I'm using this for my classroom. At home, I think this projector would work great for movies and games.
