This review is from: Monster Home Theater PowerCenter HTUPS 2700 w/ Clean Power Stage 2 v2.1, Battery Back-Up & Automatic Voltage Regulation 6 Outlets, Stage 2 v2.1, UPS, AVR (MP HTUPS 2700)This unit is really good at what it does. For its cost (on Amazon/Half) it is pretty much impossible to find a comparable unit. The only downside of this unit is that the battery backup has trouble providing sufficient power to high-draw devices. The two battery backed-up sockets were unable to operate my computer and monitor. However, considering the size and power draw of both items, it isn't exactly surprising, I just would have been thoroughly excited if the device could sustain that power draw through the battery backup. Otherwise, I have no complaints. After having spent nearly a thousand dollars each year to repair broken equipment in my house, I decided to try out some premium power protection. I have not had any issues since I got this and have noticed an increase in the performance of my power-sensitive devices. Obviously this will not improve the operation of devices with power converters, but it will ensure that any such devices aren't damaged by bad power. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has experienced power issues in their home, or for anyone who rents and can never be sure about the quality of the power in their residence....

This review is from: Monster Home Theater PowerCenter HTUPS 2700 w/ Clean Power Stage 2 v2.1, Battery Back-Up & Automatic Voltage Regulation 6 Outlets, Stage 2 v2.1, UPS, AVR (MP HTUPS 2700)The unit appears to be solidly built, and has some nice features. Unfortunately, I did not get to test any of these features out. The unit is shipped with the internal battery disconnected as a safety feature. It's a relatively simple process to connect the battery. Just turn the unit over, remove the panel for the battery compartment, pull the battery out, connect the battery connector to the connector in the compartment, line everything up and replace the panel covering the battery. The panel is held in place with a couple of small screws. So far so good, but it was downhill from there. The manual recommends that the unit is plugged in for a minimum of four hours before being put into service, to ensure the battery is fully charged. The display on the front is supposed to display input voltage and battery status. Not so in my case. The display showed 'err' in blue letters, which according to the manual indicates that the battery is not connected. So, I opened the battery compartment back up, and checked the connection. Everything looked fine. Disconnected and reconnected the battery, plugged the unit back in, and got the same 'err' message. Repeated a few more times, with the same result. Having studied electrical engineering in my college days I suspect that the unit most likely was shipped with a bad battery, but I was not about to open a brand new unit I just took out of the box, so that i could do further investigation. The unit is being returned to Amazon for a refund, I can not trust it to adequately protect my home entertainment system now.I expected better quality control from Monster, to be honest. This unit was a disappointment.I am giving one star for Amazon's easy online return process....
