This review is from: Projector-Gear Projector Ceiling Mount for EPSON PowerLite Home Cinema 8700 UBThe other reviews say it all - this is a great mount. It's cheap and works very well, you don't need more than this to hang your 8700UB (at least I didn't). You can't see the mount at all when the projector is mounted, so forget how it looks (it looks fine). Note that the best way to install the mount is to unscrew the wing nut holding the bottom part of the mount to the top part. Screw the top part to the ceiling, screw the bottom part to your projector. Then get a friend to help you hold the projector in place, put the bolt back in place and screw the wing nut onto it - voila, you're done, piece of cake....
This review is from: Projector-Gear Projector Ceiling Mount for EPSON PowerLite Home Cinema 8700 UBThis mount was too easy. I looked at mounts at Best Buy for 4X the price and they needed adjustments to hit the holes on the bottom of the Epson. This is built for the Epson. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it came by priority mail from Dallas the following Monday (I emailed the company and they emailed back that it was sent the next morning--very responsive). The bottom plate is built to use 4 screw holes in the Epson--the mount comes with 4 white plastic gappers that provide a quarter inch separation between the plate and the bottom of the projector. I didn't need an extender because the Epson is very versatile as far as projecting downward from the ceiling (so it is tucked up nicely to the ceiling vice hanging down). I used 4 plastic drywall screws for my ceiling (vice the bolts that come with the mount) and mounted the ceiling mount very quickly with a drill (the projector is only 16 pounds so no worries). The hardest part was screwing the projector into the mount on the ceiling--use 2 people (one to hold it while standing on a ladder and one (on a separate ladder) to align the screw holes and slot the screw through both brackets to make the final connection). Maneuvering the projector to adjust the image was easy too before you tighten the brackets up. I used a level to get the Epson level so that the picture didn't keystone--then use the Epson image controls to move and zoom the image. Total time to watching TV was 30 minutes tops. Great product....
This review is from: Projector-Gear Projector Ceiling Mount for EPSON PowerLite Home Cinema 8700 UBThis is the third projector I've mounted and I really like this mount. It is light weight yet very strong aluminum so no worries about it coming down as long as you mount it correctly. I have mine mounted with two screws into wood and two drywall anchors and it is not going anywhere. Good thick screw holding the projector section to the anchor. I am using the mount for an Epson 8700 ub and it's perfect....
