We wanted to give all of our tv's the ability to share the DVR from all rooms simultaneously from a composite output. We installed TV's under a kitchen cabinet, bathroom, master bedroom, and living-room so that we could move from room-to-room without missing anything, and without having to "pause" every time someone leaves the room. You can accomplish this easier with HDMI if all tv's are compatible, but we had s-video and composite on all tv's and since this amp seamlessly provides video between both connection types, it worked perfectly. Note: s-video does not include audio, you still need separate wires for video & audio (I learned this the hard way)....
